The paper examines approaches to the spatial organization of future supermegapolises and proposes an integrated structural model based on the coordination of a transport framework, local accessibility, and ecological constraints. Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) and the concept of the “15-minute city” are used to describe the principles of everyday urban life organization and the “last mile” within local territories, while the garden city concept is employed to formulate growth limitations and the formation of a natural environment. It is shown that at the scale of a supermegapolis a trunk transport framework is required to ensure connectivity of the entire territory under the inevitable shifts of activity centers; these requirements are met by regular transport networks. The proposed “grid–forest” model (archipelago city) consists of a system of sub-cities located at the nodes of a square grid and separated by continuous green corridors. Approximate parameters of the proposed supermegapolis scheme are presented, including the regular structure of the trunk network and its nodes, the typical scale of a sub-city (radius and area), as well as an estimate of the overall system dimensions for a given number of sub-cities; ecological characteristics of the model (green space provision and transport infrastructure density) are also discussed. It is shown that the use of electric personal mobility vehicles (PMVs) expands the radius of sustainable local accessibility and thus affects the admissible size of a sub-city; the digital trace of PMV trips creates a data basis enabling micromobility management and AI-based analytics (demand forecasting, identification of conflict zones, and adjustment of movement and parking regimes).
